St.Christopher’s had another win on Wednesday from the U11 girls. A superb team effort and a very high work rate in this challenging game. Some excellent movement into D by Sarah and Sophie and impressive touches from defence. 10-11 result, well done girls!
Today we have been celebrating World Book Day. The children (and staff!) have made a brilliant effort by coming to School dressed as their favourite book characters.
This morning St Christopher’s hosted the Area Heat for Quiz Club, hosting 2 teams from Blundells Prep School and Stover. We are pleased to announce that St Christopher’s came 1st and 3rd which is a great result, well done to the winning team.
On Tuesday afternoon Preps 1 & 2 visited Buckfast abbey. They have been learning about materials in Science. They went to the Educational Centre and got to experiment with all different materials. The whole school got the chance to take part in the annual Pancake Day races. The Children all had a fantastic time and it was lovely to see the older Children helping the younger ones in their race!
We took a team to the Stover invitational cross country competing against some of the bigger Independent schools in the area. Our top performers were Sacha (5th), Joseph (13th) and Indie-Rose (17th). A special mention to George from Prep 2 who finished 25th against boys two years older.
Today saw the launch of our new School meals in partnership with the Live & Let Live Pub from Landscove. The children all loved the first meal which was Reserve Cheddar Mac ‘n’ Cheese served with Garlic Bread and Salad, followed by a Warm Muffin with Seasonal Fruit Compote. We have just taken delivery of our new 9 Seater Minibus. St Christopher’s School now runs a fleet of new minibuses from Torbay, Halwell and Ashburton.
Poetry Assembly is always a lovely way to finish the 1/2 term. Today’s poems were all about the Sea and the children performed them all beautifully. It provides a great chance for the Children to learn public speaking skills and grow their confidence.
